Should We Use Air Purifiers?
Air pollution has been always a hot topic in the U.S. Thanks to the research from MIT published in 2013, it is commonly known that air pollution causes about 200,000 early deaths a year in the U.S.
A new study conducted by Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health of 60 million Americans (about 97% of people age 65 and older in the U.S.) proved that long-term exposure to airborne fine particulate matter (PM2.5) and ozone increases the risk of premature death (even if that exposure is at levels below the National Ambient Air Quality Standards (NAAQS) established by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency).
The particles studied are dangerous because their tiny size allows them to get deep into the lungs to do serious harm, as reported by Reuters.
In general, air pollution has been associated with negative effects on everyone that’s why the world’s markets have recently welcomed warmly air purifiers for personal use. But the question is – should we use them?
Consider the health hazards associated with breathing in everything from household cleaning detergents to furniture flame retardants, and buying an air-purifier seems a no-brainer. They come in many types, and one of the popular ones is so-called — “an ionizer”.
Ionizers generate negative air ions, which attract dust and allergens and other positively charged airborne particles and basically lock them in. Some experts found out that breathing air cleaned with negative ions could even relieve symptoms of depression.
Not to miss the world’s trend, GenHigh has released recently two ionizers: AUTOWIT iMU Air Purifier with True HEPA and AUTOWIT Fresh Multi-Purpose Air Purifier with True HEPA. Both are carefully designed to remove hazardous airborne fine particulate matter (PM2.5). Both have HEPA filter. HEPA, or high-efficiency particulate air, refers to a type of filter that removes 99.9% of particles above a certain size—a standard set by the U.S. Department of Energy.
What’s the biggest difference between them? With AUTOWIT Fresh you can apply extra essential oil aroma diffuser refill pads. It also sanitizes the air for easy breathing and more restful sleep with a noise level at just 35dB. AUTOWIT iMU is a multi-angle air purifier. Its elegantly designed removable stand makes it ideal for use in a car and at office or home.
What else should you consider before getting one? Both air purifiers are designed to be used in small indoor spaces, e.g. home, office, car etc. The amount of air in a room cannot exceed the amount of air they can clean.
Have in mind that a portable air cleaner is a worthwhile purchase—especially for people with asthma or different allergies. With this device, anybody can benefit. Breathing clean air isn’t a bad thing for any of us. Because we love to highlight—Every breath matters.
Autowit iMU and Autowit Fresh Air Purifiers are available at GenHigh Store.
